WUZDA Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organization based in Tamale, is looking to recruit a competent lady to occupy its Gender development/ Governance and Accountability desk.

WUZDA Ghana is dedicated to working to improve the suffering of vulnerable persons having difficulties understanding and benefitting from certain public policies and require some education/awareness, to avoid discrimination.

The Gender development/Governance and Accountability officer would have the responsibility to engage these vulnerable persons and help them gain knowledge on public policies in order to assist them request for their basic rights.

Requirements of Applicants

First degree holder in any development related field, most especially in the social sciences.

Age range: 28-35 years.

Working Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Gender, Social Accountability and Child Rights Advocacy in a similar position held before.

Must have worked on the job in similar areas as relating girls’ development to the SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality).

The SDGs definition; SDG 4 (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all), SDG 5, (Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls).

Note: This vacancy is open only to female applicants.

Applicant must have ability to work in a team and under pressure to produce results and to meet deadlines.

Must be able to speak fluently and write accurately the English language, to produce reports.

Must also be able to speak Dagbani or Mampruli fluently and either Gonja or Hausa.

Must have skills to prepare participatory planning, reports, monitoring and evaluation frameworks and be able to implement same to meet deadlines.

Must have skills in data collection, analysis and processing tools.

Must be able to ride a motorbike to execute assignments.

Must be familiar with using MS word, Excel, power point and other basic IT software to perform duties timely and efficiently.

Must have knowledge in Gender development Policies including other relevant laws and issues such as the rights of women and children, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights and the importance of girl child education.
