On the 9th May, 2025, and around 12 am, a fire outbreak occurred at the main office of WUZDA Ghana which contains Administrative/Finance office, the Progrmme Officer and Projects implementation office. The intensity of the fire consumed all equipment and important information documents of the organization. The people of Kakpagyili community were there in their numbers to help put out the fire whiles waiting for the Ghana fire Service arrived latter after several calls. Even though the fire was put out by 3.00, no vital equipment or documents containing data and information of the organization were salvaged.
No live was lost, but there injuries were reported, among Ghana Fire Service personnel and some community members who came to helps in the process of fighting the fire down. The incident is currently under investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire outbreak in the organization.
We are extremely grateful for the quick thinking of the community members and the response by Ghana Fire Services personnel,” After the fire was brought under control, the fire personnel took the opportunity to educate the masses regarding how the Service operates. Mr. Ibrahim Abdul- Ganiyu, the project coordinator thank the Ghana Fire Service and community members for the effort they put in bringing the fire down. He said “Our top priority has always been the safety of our people, and that was demonstrated in how the situation was handled.
While some operational disruptions may occur as we assess the damage is beyond repairs, contingency plans have been activated to ensure continuity of service. Updates will be provided through our official channels as more information becomes available.
